Poem to share - Babies don't keep

by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Song for a Fifth Child.
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,

Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping's not done
and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Just a little giggle...

We've done a little camping this summer, much less than I've desired. Besides the rain, hard ground and baby feet ending up in my nose holes and my ribs being cracked by 6 year old elbows, we enjoyed our camping days.

And a little funny story which kind of sums up how people can view a camp, let alone life!

Boudreaux and Thibodeaux went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep.

Some hours later, Thibodeaux woke Boudreaux and said, "Ma sha, look towards da sky, what you see?"

Boudreaux replied, "I see millions of stars."

"What dat tell you?" asked Thibodeaux.

Boudreaux pondered for a minute then said: "Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.

Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.

Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning.

Theologically, mother nature is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.

Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.

What's it tell you, Thibodeaux?"

Thibodeaux says: "Boudreaux, you dumber than cow poop. It mean somebody done stole da tent!

Alternative celebrity mama in the news...and I am so excited!

I am just really excited to see this. Remember the show Blossom from the 90's??

Well, she is an alternative parenting representative (not in the business way, just she is REPRESENTIN! -I left the G off on purpose for the full effect LOL!)

You can check it out here - (just click "here")

She is "representin" by choosing an unconventional way to parent. By this I mean No vaccinations, home birthing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding and EC'ing.

I am so excited!

...gave birth to my first slice of blue-eyed humanity:

6:05pm to be exact. Nothing to dull the pain and nothing to inhibit the pleasure.

No words can I express to relay how much that day and his life continues to bless me.

Much love to you baby boy.
