Have you gotten the opportunity to watch the Rikki Lake documentary called "The Business of being born (BOBB)" yet? Please do so as soon as possible-such an awesome movie!!
So...apparantly the AMA joined in the uproar of the ACOG (possibly from the attention that BOBB recieved from pregnant consumers) and are trying to ban our Constitutional rights to give birth how and when and where we please-excuse me-with NOOOOOO research, statistics, for the safety of women and babies or medical basis listed in their resolutions.
Are they scared for their jobs? Hmmmmmmm...
Are they wanting to incarcerate mothers that give birth at home? Hmmmmmmm...
It won't stand if we "push back" see this campaign to advocate for regulation and licensure of Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and to PUSH BACK against the attempts of the AMA deny American families access to safe and legal midwifery care AT THIS SITE
Read this email that I received from a friend AND PLEASE TAKE TIME TO SIGN THE PETITION
Resolutions were recently introduced by the AMA to support ACOG's position against home birth and to "develop model legislation in support of the concept that the safest setting for labor, delivery, and the immediate post-partum period is in the hospital, or a birthing center within a hospital complex, that meets standards jointly outlined by the AAP and ACOG, or in a freestanding birthing center that meets the standards of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, The Joint Commission, or the American Association of Birth Centers."
Please help send a message to the AMA and ACOG, and to our state and federal legislators, to tell them that we object to these resolutions and we view legislation that would restrict a woman's right to choose a home birth as a being contrary to scientific evidence and a violation of women's basic human rights.
HOME AND BIRTH- 2 WORDS THAT I LOVE TO HEAR- MAKES ME SUPA HAPPY!!!!
To me there is NO OTHER CHOICE IN THIS country for a peaceful, safe birth besides my own home.
Quote found in my sidebar-
There are more than 40 countries where it is safer to be born than in the US**The World Fact Book Updated July 2006https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/rankorder/2091rank.html

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING??
Are mothers and babies in their best interest or is money and power their resolution?
Are they trying to make home birth go underground all over the country, as it is already in many states? Where is the safety in that?
Sneaking, stress, penalties for midwives, untold birth stories...how does that make birth safer for the mother and baby?
I for one will birth my babies according to my constitutional rights and...
Since when is Hospitalization TRADITIONAL and home birth the ALTERNATIVE? I think this country has confused these two words in many areas of life.
